It is very important when you buy a good pair of adult swimming goggles or a mask even, that you do what you need to do to then protect and look after it. That will mean your goggles will last longer and you won't have issues with scratching, leaks or fogging as often as you might in goggles that are not looked after. So often your comfort and enjoyment as well as your performance are affected by ill-chosen or not looked after goggles. You might no longer even notice the number of times you clean them, drip out the water, and adjust them, as you swim. With the chlorine, particles, and so on the conditions you swim in can be harsh. Here are some ways you can ensure your goggles stay in far better shape.
Have a good case to keep them in and use it
One of the biggest things you can do is choose a great case for them and make sure you use it. Even when swim or diving goggles come with their own case a lot of people don’t use them, or start out with good intentions but soon fade in their efforts. It is easy to get into the bad habit of picking them up and throwing them in your swim bag loose and that inevitably leads to them becoming dirty and scratched. With a durable and good quality case, you can prevent that between uses.
There are a number of good brands out there. Barracuda has a case that is crush resistant, has a soft lining and will be perfect at keeping the nicks and warps away. It has air holes, as do a lot of good cases, so your goggles can air dry and not get damaged from being wet for too long. It clips on your swim bag easily. Speedo has a great goggle case too with a hard outer shell, air holes and an attractive design to hold adult swimming goggles.
Find an anti-fog solution
As well as having a good case that you always use for swimming or diving goggles, you should also make sure they are anti-fog. Many goggles come with that kind of protection included in their design, but if you still have problems or your goggles do not have that you can get a liquid you can use on them to achieve it. You just wipe it on each lens and you should have crystal clear vision each time you use them. A lot of people think fogging is a sign they need new goggles but you can keep them if they are working well for you and the fogging is the only problem, and use this anti-fog coating/solution. It is also a way to prolong the life of the goggles as it helps to protect them.
Summary
When you look after your goggles you do not have to spend money to replace them and they work better for you.
