Best Cabarets of London

Rating & reviews (0 reviews)
If there’s one thing you can be sure of from your trip to London, it is that you will never be short of entertainment. The city is packed to the brim with comedy nights, West End shows, dramas, themed nights and much more  - basically if you can think it, London probably has it. However, one of our favourite forms of entertainment in the city goes back to the 19th Century but is still very much relevant to this day, and this is Cabaret. As the famous musical states “life is a cabaret, old chum”, and if you are yet to experience it, you may not have lived! So, here are our top picks for Cabaret performances in London, for you to enjoy on your next visit to the city.

Working Men’s Club - Bethnal Green

After you’ve checked into your stunning accommodation in the Montcalm Royal London, we reckon that you should head straight to Bethnal Green, to experience a different type of Cabaret at the Working Men’s Club. Traditional images of this type of entertainment include elegantly draped tables circled around a stage, where you sit quietly and be entertained. It is safe to say that the Working Men’s Club has adapted that idea somewhat. This venue is wacky and downright weird but it represents everything that we love about East London. So, whether you are there for their magnificent Circus and Burlesque night, or for the “in-your-face” drag performances from the Mariah & Friendz, a night of cabaret in the Working Men’s Club will certainly not be forgotten any time soon.

The Box

If you are seeking the A-List favourite in Cabaret, then look no further than The Box. Just a short trip from your Montcalm at the Brewery London City accommodation, The Box is the priciest cabaret experience that London has to offer, but you will certainly not be disappointed. Their “theatre of varieties” is raunchy, to say the least, so should be avoided for those who prefer to keep their stiff “British upper lip” intact. Performers utilise every (and we mean every) part of their body in their performances in this establishment, meaning that (as you’ve probably guessed) children are not allowed.

SoHo Theatre

Although The Box is the favourite among celebrities, if you want to see some of the biggest names in Cabaret perform, then a trip to Soho is in order. This area contains some of the most lively streets in the city and is home to some of the best bars around, as well as the Soho Theatre - home of Cabaret. We recommend that you enjoy a stylish supper at Hankies Marble Arch, before heading out to this stylish Soho venue. Here, you can expect to be entertained until the early hours by famous names such as Johnny Woo and girl band, Denim. Return to your room in the Montcalm Hotels London after a big night on the town enjoying the finest examples of Cabaret in the city.
